The Storey County Fire Protection District and Storey County Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer member of our department. We commend your desire to serve your community and help your fellow citizens by becoming a part of the best fire department in the state.
You must be committed and dedicated to reach your goal as the services that are provided and stakes involved demand such a strong commitment. Becoming a Storey County Volunteer Fire Department starts with you. It starts with a serious desire to commit yourself to volunteering to serve your community and state in the preservation of life, property and the environment. The process and entry level training are very demanding as the nature of the job and the service requires such a process. Once achieved, the additional commitment to train and respond to emergency calls is expected.
Our Storey County Volunteer Fire Department personnel are held in the highest regard. The Storey County Fire Protection District and Storey County Volunteer Fire Department are considered to be one of the most progressive and efficiently managed fire agencies in the State of Nevada. These departments have deep rooted community ties dating back to 1860. The tradition, pride and honor of being a member of this department are substantial and are not to be taken lightly.
